Gorillaz have teamed up with Idles for a new single titled The God Of Lying.
Blending atmospheric dub rhythms with subtle Indian instrumentation, the track comes with a visualizer featuring Idles frontman Joe Talbot.
Written by Damon Albarn and Talbot, and recorded in London, Devon and Mumbai, it serves as the third preview of the Albarn-led band's new album, 'The Mountain', due out on March 20 via the group's new label, KONG.
Gorillaz introduced the follow-up to 2023's 'Cracker Island' in September alongside the release of the record's Sparks-assisted lead single, The Happy Dictator. That was followed by a second preview last month, The Manifesto featuring Argentine rap star Trueno and a posthumous verse from the late Detroit-born rapper and long-time collaborator Proof from hip hop group D12.
The album also includes collaborations with Johnny Marr on four tracks, as well as Gruff Rhys and Yasiin Bey, alongside posthumous contributions from Bobby Womack, Dennis Hopper, Mark E. Smith, and Tony Allen.
Gorillaz will support the album with The Mountain Tour, playing UK and Ireland arenas between March 20 and April 2, with Trueno supporting all dates except Manchester and Birmingham. They'll also play a summer show at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20 with Sparks and Trueno. Tickets are on sale now.
