Gorillaz are a British virtual band, created by Blur’s Damon Albarn and comic book artist Jamie Hewlett, and featuring the animated characters 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 2001, which reached #3 in the UK Albums Chart, and featured the single Clint Eastwood. It was followed by ‘Demon Days’, in 2005, and 2010's ‘Plastic Beach’ and ‘The Fall’. ‘Humanz’ dropped in 2017, and their latest full-length effort, 'The Now Now', arrived in 2018. They unveiled an audiovisual project, 'Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez' in 2020, which featured collaborations with the likes of Slaves, Slowthai, Georgia, Robert Smith and Elton John, among others. In the past, they have toured across the UK, Europe, North America, Asia and Australia extensively, and have appeared at festivals such as Sziget, Rock Werchter and Roskilde.
