System Of A Down Frontman Serj Tankian Announces Solo EP 'Foundations'

System Of A Down's Serj Tankian has announced a solo EP.

'Foundations' is expected in the autumn, and will feature the newly teased single A.F. Day, which is due out on May 17. Check out the teaser video for the heavy track below. Speaking about it, he said:

"This is a song I wrote in the early days of SOAD that I never released. The majority of the instrumentation and vocals are recordings from that time. Dystopian in mood, it’s a reflection of the angst and anti-authoritarian attitude I had to conformity."

Tankian will also publish his debut memoir, Down With The System, via Hachette Books on May 14. The release will be followed by book events at Barnes and Noble Union Square in New York City on May 14 and Powehouse Arena in Brooklyn on May 15, and in Los Angeles at Barnes and Noble The Grove on May 21 and Book Soup on May 24. 

The Grammy Award-winning System Of A Down, meanwhile, headlined the second Sick New World festival in Las Vegas last weekend. They'll also play a co-headline show with Deftones at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on August 17.
