Embrace's officially endorsed world cup song is outselling its rivals in the midweek charts despite seemingly getting slated from all corners.
The Huddersfield based indie act were chosen by the English F.A. to record the official tune, which came up against criticism from music and football fans alike for lacking 'passion'.
The song though is way out in front in the stakes for World Cup chart success, ahead of plethora of world cup songs including Sham 69's 'Hurry Up England'.
Danny McNamara said: “I’m a firm believer in the old adage that you can’t please all the people all the time.
“But I don’t think I was fully prepared for some of the stuff we got thrown at us so it’s brilliant to out-sell the competition in such a big way.”
It is not clear yet whether or not Embrace will be able to knock Sandi Thom off the top spot in the UK charts this Sunday.
