Livingston Football Club was first formed in Edinburgh as Ferranti Thistle in the 1943. They were renamed Meadowbank Thistle and joined the Scottish Football League in 1974.
After relocating to Livingston, West Lothian, in 1995, the club renamed themselves again, taking up residence at the Almondvale Stadium, also known as the Tony Macaroni Arena for sponsorship purposes.
