YUNA, real name Yunalis Mat Zara'ai, is a Malaysian songwriter and pop vocalist from Alor Setar, Kedah.
Starting her music career in 2006 as a creative outlet while studying at law school, she released some music on MySpace which saw over a million plays. she released her debut self-titled album in 2008, followed by ‘Decorate’ in 2010. After signing with the Fader label in 2011, she went on to release ‘Terukir Di Bintang’ in 2012, ‘Nocturnal’ in 2013 and ‘Material’ in 2015. She released ‘Chapters’, in May 2016 via Verve Records, and her latest material was the single Better Now in December 2018. During her career, Yuna has played Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo festival, and has toured with Graffiti 6. In 2012, Yuna was recognised with a National Youth Icon Award, awarded by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Yuna Zarai is set to take over London’s Electric Brixton in March 2019.
