On This Day In Music: Joe Strummer Dies Aged 50

On December 22, 2002 Joe Strummer, frontman and co-founder of the Clash, died aged 50.

The band put out their seminal debut in 1977, at punk’s early peak, before redefining what could be expected from the scene with ‘London Calling’ two years later.
