The Temper Trap Wont Rush Into Second Album

Australian epic-indie band The Temper Trap will hope their fans know good things come to those who wait having announced their second album “is still way off in the distance.”

Releasing their debut album ‘Conditions’ last year, The Temper Trap left their native Australia in 2008 in a gamble for fame and fortune in the UK. Leaving their families behind they recorded their debut album in London, which then went on to receive a warm welcome by critics upon its release.

However despite the album’s good reviews, with sales being initially low, The Temper Trap didn’t hit instant success with the release. Through word-of-mouth the Australian group slowly climbed the charts and eventually progressed to a Top Ten hit with their first single ‘Sweet Disposition’.

Hitting the road for some massive shows the buzz continued to grow. Having been a familiar name on this summer’s festival circuit, fans are already calling for a follow-up to ‘Conditions’. Speaking to NME, The Temper Trap’s drummer Toby Dundas explained that a second album could take a while.

"Album two is still way off in the distance. We're going to start seriously writing it early next year so it might make it out next year, but it could easily drag on until 2012 before it actually comes out."

Continuing, Dundas explained how the band didn’t wanted to take their time in producing their second offering. "We don't want to rush it. There's all that pressure that comes with the second album. We want to make something we're really proud of before we share it with everyone."

The Temper Trap are set to perform at next month’s V Festival, which takes place on twin sites in Essex and Staffordshire over the weekend of August 21st and August 22nd.
