James Blake and Crystal Fighters to Feature on New Channel 4 Music Show in April

James Blake, Crystal Fighters and Mount Kimbie are among the acts to feature on a new Channel 4 music show entitled ‘Abbey Road Debuts’. The new programme, a weekly series of 15-minute shows, comes from the producers of the channel’s previous show ‘Live from Abbey Road’. ‘Abbey Road Debuts’ will feature performances and interviews with each band at the iconic studios in London. The 12-week series will start from the week of the 4th April and will be presented by BBC 6Music DJ and son of the late John Peel, Tom Ravenscroft.

The pilot episode of ‘Abbey Road Debuts’ was broadcast in October 2010 and featured Everything Everything. The new series will also see performances from Trophy Wife, Lower Dens, Treefight for Sunlight and Dark Dark Dark.

Abbey Road Studios in St John’s Wood, London is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. The studios have played host to a number of world-famous recordings by the likes of Pink Floyd and Radiohead. The building was known as EMI Studios until 1970, when it was renamed to Abbey Road Studios following the release of The Beatles’ 1969 album ‘Abbey Road’.
