The Answering Machine have announced that they will no longer be making music together. After six years performing in venues all over the world with independent label Heist or Hit, the Mancunian four-piece have decided to call it a day
Speaking through a hand-written note on their official website, the band said: “Over the last week or so we’ve all been doing some soul searching. We are very sorry to have to tell you that we have decided to stop making music as The Answering Machine.”
“It obviously hasn’t been an easy decision for us and we don’t want to make things harder/more upsetting for us by doing a ‘farewell tour’ or ‘last ever gig’, we are happier bowing out on the positive note we started on 6 years ago”.
They continued: “We’d like to say a special thank you to our record label Heist or Hit for all their support and for always believing and for being a true indie. Thank you New York, L.A., Austin, Denver, Tokyo, Berlin, Brussels, Hamburg, Ibiza, Amsterdam, Luxemburg, Frankfurst, Munich, Paris, Cologne, London and most of all Manchester.”
The band went on to announce that they will be releasing a special 12-inch vinyl edition of their second LP ‘Lifelines’ as a celebration of their musical achievement over the past years.
