Frankie Cocozza's Best Friend Murdered In Street Violence

A 13 year-old and two 14 year-olds have been arrested after Connor Saunders, best friend of X-Factor star Frankie Cocozza, was murdered on Saturday (April 15th) night.

The 19 year-old was pronounced dead at a hospital in Brighton on the weekend after an argument broke out involving two rival groups of teenagers. The 13 year-old suspect has since been bailed but the two 14 year-old boys remain in custody and are being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Saunders was Cocozza's best friend and often travelled with the star on his tours. He was also a talented footballer and plasterer, and played for Peacehaven and Telscombe Football Club. He was described as 'an angel on Earth' by his uncle and a 'wonderful person' by his football club. Frankie has already flown him from Scotland and cancelled a gig, tweeting 'my life will never be the same.'

A spokesperson for Sussex Police has said: “Two 14-year-old boys remain in custody today on suspicion of murder. A 13-year-old boy, who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail until May 8 pending further inquiries.”
