William Orbit Claims Britney Spears 'Never Needed Autotune' Ahead Of New Album

Tuesday, 09 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Electronic music producer William Orbit has revealed that he thinks pop superstar Britney Spears has ‘never needed’ autotune, ahead of what will be the singer’s eighth studio album.

Orbit has been working with Spears in the studio, and when a fan suggested via Twitter that her new album feature a basic track, such as Spears singing with ‘strictly’ just piano and ‘nothing else’, Orbit replied that she never needed anything ‘else’ like autotune, something which corrects the pitch of a singer’s voice.

Spears’ has been working on the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Femme Fatale’ for a while now, and Orbit has previously claimed her new work is ‘to die for’ - US fans may have a chance of hearing some of her latest material before the album’s release when she hits the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas for a residency later this year.

Us Brits will have to wait a bit longer to hear anything new - so if you’re a fan, keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard
