Folk singer Rodriguez has announced three UK shows for March 2014.
With just two little-sold albums in the early 1970s and some brief touring in Australia, you could argue that the career of Rodriguez was relatively short lived. However, unbeknownst to him, his work became extremely influential during the apartheid era in South Africa. In the 1990s, determined South African fans managed to seek out and contact him, which led to an unexpected revival of his musical career. The story is told in the 2012 Academy Award winning documentary film, Searching for Sugar Man.
Catch Rodriguez perform live at Bournemouth's International Centre, Birmingham's Symphony Hall and London's Eventim Apollo on March 9, March 11 and March 13 respectively.
