Unknown Mortal Orchestra have shared a track from their new album, which is due out this spring.
'Multi-Love' will be released May 26 through Jagjaguwar. The new record sees frontman Ruban Nielson again reflect on relationships. However, whereas 'II' focused on how it is to be alone, 'Multi-Love' has Nielson musing on the complications of being together.
The album also had Nielson exploring his new found love of synthesizers. He said:
It felt good to be rebelling against the typical view of what an artists is today, a curator. It’s more about being someone who makes things happen in concrete ways. Building old synthesizers and bringing them back to life, creating sounds that aren’t quite like anyone else’s. I think that’s much more subversive
Listen to the title track of the album below.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra play two headline shows in May followed by a support of Django Django at Warwick University on May 22 and a slot at Liverpool Sound City on May 23.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:
Wed May 20 2015 - BRISTOL Thekla
Thu May 21 2015 - LONDON Islington Assembly Hall
