New Album From Jimi Hendrix

New material from legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix is due to be released later this year.

Nearly forty years have passed since the guitarist’s untimely death, yet Jimi Hendrix is still regarded as a total music icon. Using his domination of late 1960’s culture, he was a massive help in pushing the boundaries of rock music, on occasions even turning the studio itself into and instrument.

Hendrix gained major success with final Jimi Hendrix Experience album, ‘Electric Ladyland’, afterwards the guitarist went on to attempt a number of new projects. Working in studios all over the world with a variety of musicians. In the wake of his adventures Hendrix left behind a huge legacy of unreleased material.

With the new recordings surfacing, recent action has seen the late guitarists estate attempting to find an official release for the new music. While an acoustic album is still being talked about, new album ‘Valleys of Neptune’ has been given the go ahead for release on March 8th.

The new album features some familiar material. Hendrix is captured jamming on Cream’s ‘Sunshine Of Your Love’, itself a tribute to the legendary guitarist. It also includes Jimi blasting through classic blues track ‘Bleeding Heart’ by Elmore James, which originally featured in the previously released Albert Hall live show.

The album, which is produced by Hendrix’s stepsister along with John McDermott and Eddie Kramer will include the below tracks

‘Stone Free’
‘Valleys Of Neptune’
‘Bleeding Heart’
‘Hear My Train A Comin’’
‘Mr Bad Luck’
‘Sunshine Of Your Love’
‘Lover Man’
‘Ships Passing Through The Night’
‘Fire’
‘Red House’
‘Lullaby For The Summer’
‘Crying Blue Rain’
