Lil Wayne has written his own sequel to Eminem’s hit single ‘Stan’, released over a decade ago in 2000. In the unofficial sequel, which has been titled ‘Dear Anne’, the rapper pens a letter to ‘Anne’, his number one fan.
The track follows the mode of Eminem’s hit single, but it is believed that the Bad Meets Evil star is yet to give his consent or approval for the track. ‘Dear Anne’ was produced by Swizz Beats and features a sample from Russian pop duo t.A.T.u's '30 Seconds'.
The track will not appear on Lil Wayne’s upcoming LP ‘Tha Carter IV’, according to reports. The release of the album has been delayed on two occasions to date, with producers citing Wayne’s ‘perfectionist’ tendencies as the reason for the delays. ‘Tha Carter IV’ is currently chalked for a release on August 29th.
Despite the similarities in theme, Lil Wayne’s ‘Dear Anne’ features the rapper writing words of support to his long-term fan – the opposite to Eminem’s take of abuse and eventual murder.
