Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter from Newark, New Jersey.

Starting his music career in 1957, he released several singles under various guises, and a solo album, ‘The Paul Simon Songbook’ in 1965. After forming Simon and Garfunkel, the duo signed to signed with Columbia Records and released their debut album, ‘Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M’. They went on to release ‘Sounds of Silence’, ‘Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme’, ‘Bookends’ and ,Bridge over Troubled Water’, before splitting in 1970.

Simon then re-embarked on a solo career, releasing a self-titled album, ‘Paul Simon’, in 1972, which contained the songs Mother and Child Reunion and Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard. He followed with ‘There Goes Rhymin' Simon’ in 1973 and ‘Still Crazy After All These Years ’in 1975. In 1980 he released the soundtrack to his film, ‘One-Trick Pony’ and ‘ Hearts and Bones’ in 1983.

His 1986 album, ‘Graceland’ was his most critically acclaimed album, and contained the song You Can Call Me Al. He has released 12 albums in total, the latest being 2011’s 'So Beautiful or So What’. He released his latest album, ‘Stranger to Stranger’, on June 3, via Virgin EMI, and he also dropped a live album recorded in Hyde Park in 2017.

Paul Simon has announced his Homeward Bound Farewell tour to hit the UK, Ireland and North America. He'll retire from the road after this coming tour, which kicks off on May 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and also encompasses dates in continental Europe. The announcement comes shortly after revealing a headline slot at British Summer Time festival at Hyde Park this July.
