Salem Debut With 'King Night'

North American three-piece Salem are a band who’s ambition and influences stretch way beyond the normal confines; by way of Juke, footwork, chopped and screwed rap, black metal, classical music and fallen pop stars, Salem create a dark, new, ghostly world, and a music all of their own.

Following the release of two EPs, ‘Yes I Smoke Crack’ and ‘Water’, the band built up a fervent online following that soon translated into broader areas. Glowing notices came from NME, Dazed, Fader, Stool Pigeon, The Guardian and more.

Now their debut album ‘King Night’ has arrived, documenting the rust belt of the American north-east. The record blurs genres. Insular and claustrophobic, the music reflects their own environment and experiences. Mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Black Mountain), this is a zeitgeist capturing album.
