The Avalanches Share New Single Blue Shadows Featuring Karen O

The Avalanches have released their third new single of 2026.
Built around a reggae-inspired groove, synths and soft vocal samples, Blue Shadows features Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O and delivers a more restrained sound from the Australian electronic group of Robbie Chater, Tony Di Blasi and Andy Szekeres.
The track marks the trio's second collaboration with Karen O, who previously appeared on the interlude Dial D for Devotion from The Avalanches' most recent album, 2020's 'We Will Always Love You'.
It follows their May single Together, featuring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and Prentiss, which marked their first new single in six years, as well as the Jamie xx collaboration Every Single Weekend, which arrived in June.
Despite the creative run, there's still no word on a new album, though the group have launched a retro website, takumiarchives.com, where fans can sign up for updates.
The trio are set to appear at a handful of shows and festivals over the next few months, including All Together Now in Ireland and Lost Village Festival in Lincolnshire.
They also have a New York gig confirmed for October 22, their first live show in the US in four years, and two nights at London's Roundhouse in the diary on November 6 and 27. The first London date is part of Pitchfork Music Festival and the second is a headline show billed as The Avalanches & Friends. Tickets are on sale now.
