After a 12 year absence, The Monkees, the original boyband, are heading out on tour again.
Having released some of the biggest songs of the 60s, British-born Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork return to perform in front of their British fans hits such as 'Daydream Believer', 'Last Train to Clarksville', 'I’m a Believer' and '(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone'.
Selling over 50 million records, The Monkees, in their hayday, provided the soundtrack to teenage lives both in the UK and the USA. Originally created for TV, The Monkees progressed from their own television show to become a hugley respected pop group with fans such as John Lennon labelling them as “the Marx Brothers of Rock”. The Monkees even outsold both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined at one point!
The Monkees went on to tour the world and to this day have inspired pop groups such as the Backstreet Boys, Take That, Boyzone, Busted and JLS. Erm...thanks.
