Peter Doherty Spotted At German Record Store Robbery

Libertines and Babyshambles star Pete Doherty has been accused of breaking into a German record store and stealing records and guitars.

Not unfamiliar with doing something illegal, Doherty was in Germany working on his film ‘The Confession of a Child of the Century’, in which he will play alcoholic writer Alfred de Musset in his first acting role.

But now the singer and guitarist is amidst claims he and two friends were involved in the robbery of a Regensburg record store.

According to the Guardian’s reports, the three were strolling drunk down a street talking, when woman spotted them walking past before claiming she heard a loud noise, followed by seeing a man attempting to grab records through a smashed window. The woman told a German paper "It was Doherty, I clearly recognised him."

Regensburg police have spoken of the incident, admitting there was a celebrity suspect involved, but refused to reveal the suspect’s name. Doherty has also spoken to Germany TV surrounding the claims, telling them that he was in fact at the scene, but was not involved in the robbery of the store.
