Jamiroquai Cancel Show After Death Of Crew Member

Jamiroquai cancelled a performance in Lyon yesterday (March 24th) after a member of their crew fell to his death while setting up the venue.

The band were scheduled for a performance at La Halle Tony Garnier in the French city, but decided to cancel the show in respect of the tragedy which occurred in the early evening. According to The Sun, a French stage assistant slipped on a gantry above the stage, and fell 50 feet after losing his footing.

The man is yet to be named and French police are set to make an investigation concerning the incident.

Remarking on the accident, the band posted a statement on their official website, which read: “Jay and the band were "shocked and saddened" to learn of the death of a local French crew member earlier today in Lyon, following a fall. Due to the ensuing police investigation, and as a mark of respect, the Lyon show has been cancelled.”

Jamiroquai are yet to make a statement regarding the rest of their European tour, although as it stands the band will continue with their remaining dates as planned. Jamiroquai will be coming to the UK next month to play four arena dates.

The band will play the following UK tour dates

Friday 15th April - LONDON THE O2 ARENA
Sunday 17th April - BIRMINGHAM LG ARENA
Tuesday 19th April - MANCHESTER MEN ARENA
Wednesday 20th April - GLASGOW SECC DFC
