She & Him, Florence & The Machine and Julian Casablancas For Buddy Holly Tribute Album – Listen Now

Monday, 13 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

She & Him are the latest act to preview their offering from the Buddy Holly tribute album ‘Rave On’. The duo of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward have given a relatively faithful rendition of Holly’s 1957 track ‘Oh Boy’, paying homage to the man who influenced so much of the sound behind their original material.

The tribute album will line up music’s finest for covers of Holly’s most famous tracks, as The Black Keys, Modest Mouse, Paul McCartney, Cee Lo Green, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, My Morning Jacket and Nick Lowe all donate their renditions on the LP.

Also performing are Florence and The Machine, who recently premiered a video of their cover of ‘Not Fade Away’, and The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, who has given an impressively accurate rendition of ‘Rave On’ for the tribute LP.
