Crash Test Dummies Forced to Cancel US and Canada Tour

Canadian rockers Crash Test Dummies have unfortunately had to cancel their up and coming US and Canada tour after frontman Brad Roberts’ back pains became too great for the trip to go ahead.

The band are extremely unhappy that they’ve been forced to pull out of the gigs, but there was nothing they could do as Roberts’ doctors advised he stay off the stage for a while so his back has time to heal. He has apologised to fans about the ordeal but told them that the cancellations are better for him in the long run, allowing him to tour for many years to come. A post from the singer on the band’s website tells of the cancellation.

“I'm really sorry to announce that I've had to cancel the Crash Test Dummies' fall 2011 tour of the U.S. and Canada. I have been dealing with chronic and worsening back problems stemming from a herniated disk. I've even had to stop playing guitar on recent tours.

“At this point, my doctors have advised me that I cannot go out on the road for the remainder of this year. As much as I love performing, just thinking about the many long drives I would have been facing this fall has had me seriously worried.

“I'm deeply disappointed at this turn of events, and I know that Crash Test Dummies fans will be disappointed as well, but my medical condition has to be my priority right now. I'll be OK in the long run, but I'm just not able to tour this fall. I hope you understand. I'll miss you!”
