Fucked Up's Future In Doubt As Frontman Admits He Can No Longer Tour

Canadian hardcore punks Fucked Up look set to lose their frontman Damian Abraham as he admits he doesn’t want to tour anymore because it means he has to leave his wife and children at home.
Abraham has told fans that he’ll be taking at least a ‘long break’ from the scene as he adheres to family life, and will think long and hard about the long-term future of the band while he takes his rest. He has said that although he doesn’t want to tour as much as the other guys do, he won’t take away from their spirit by leaving the band without a frontman.
“I don't want to say I've been teasing it, in a way,” he explained to Spinner.com. “But I've been talking about it a lot because I don't want to take away these five other people's livelihoods. I can't tour anymore.
“I don't want to take that away from them [his bandmates], so I would love to find a way to basically make it into a constantly evolving thing where sometimes Fucked Up can go on tour and other times, it's another band involved with us.”
He continued: “I have no idea how it's all going to work out; I know we're going to take this long break and hopefully we can think about it and figure it out a little more. It's weird because it's not like you're working a job where you don't like it anymore and you want to move on for whatever reason - it's not just you, it's five other people who are also working at the same job.”
