The Wanted Talk About 'Battleground' Deluxe Edition

British and Irish boyband The Wanted have been getting fans excited over their deluxe edition of their latest studio album ‘Battleground’, revealing that they’ve been recording new tracks to go with the release.

The deluxe edition of the album is expected to hit shelves early on next year, and will contain a number of unheard and unreleased tracks, including some that they’re still working on at the moment. They also talked about a track they’re doing with songwriting rapper Example.

“You know when you just have a load of good songs and then they're just ready in time and you don't want to waste them?” Jay McGuiness asked Digital Spy. “We don't really want to use them for another album, because they were written for this one.

“We were trying to figure a way around it - like doing another mini release - and then the record label put to us an idea, but there's still talk around that. We're conscious that we don't rip off people because they'll just get fed up and stop listening to us.”

He continued on to talk about their track with Example, saying: “He sent a few before that didn't quite make it, but we've got one from him now that we absolutely love. Tom has it on his iPod and it's now become his most played song on there! We're hopefully going to record the track this week.”

“It's actually similar in some ways to 'Glad You Came'. It won't be out before Christmas because people don't want to be raving when it's pissing with snow.”

The group release their latest single ‘Warzone’ on Christmas day – but, as an early present, you can watch the video below. Or, for an ideal Christmas gift to a Wanted fan, buy them a pair of Wanted tickets! The group will be performing across the country from February to March next year.
