Guns N' Roses Announce Dublin Show - UK Dates Coming Soon?

Legendary hard rockers Guns N Roses have announced a show in Dublin for this May – meaning they could be ready to announce a string of UK, Irish or European dates too.

The band, fronted by Axl Rose, will play in Dublin’s O2 Arena on May 17th – the first time they’ve played that venue since they had an absolute disaster of a performance in September 2010 – with Rose turning up 40 minutes late, only to walk off stage after a handful of songs because bottles were being thrown at him.

The band is reportedly working on the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’, with new guitarist saying in April last year that they were working on new songs ‘every day’.

He continued to reveal: “Axl has a lot of great songs up his sleeve. He probably has three albums worth of stuff recorded. The stuff I've heard… I've been up in his hotel room many nights and he just sits down at the piano and plays. I'm like 'this is amazing, people have to hear this song' and he's like "ah, this is something I'm tinkering on'.”

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that the group would be inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame – sparking huge rumours that the original line-up of the band might reunite for the ceremony on April 14th. Rose himself was quoted as saying:

“I'd like to thank the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame and our fans. This is your victory. I don't know what it means in terms of me with the old band and the old line-up. If we were to be invited, I don't know what they would ask of me. It's up in the air. I have no idea how that's supposed to go. If Axl, [bassist] Duff, [guitarist] Izzy and myself start communicating, it could go one way. It we don't, God knows.”
