Hard-Fi have scheduled the Don't Go Making Plans Tour for the autumn.

The Staines indie-rock band will perform in Hastings, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds and London, where they'll wrap up the run at the Roundhouse on November 30. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (May 24).

The trek takes its name from the group's new single, Don't Go Making Plans, their first new material in 10 years. Centred around a political theme, the soul-infused indie offering also serves as the title track of a new EP, due out in time for the 10-date run on November 1 via Ignition Records, and available as a limited numbered, transparent red 12" vinyl. Frontman Richard Archer said:

"A track that you can still dance to in a club or play on the radio, because a song like that you can make a real connection to and circumnavigates the pointless restrictions being put in our way. Governments passing laws to stop protests that 'cause more than minor disruption feels like something out of a dystopian film. The whole point of protest is disruption. You're trying to interrupt the inevitable flow of things, to encourage the people running the country to think again, especially when you have a government that doesn't seem to be bothered by what people actually need."

"Playing gigs together really rekindled the fire at the heart of the band," Archer added. "And as much as we enjoyed playing our older songs — and audiences loved hearing them — we all felt the urge to create something new."

Hard-Fi, whose most recent album is 2011's 'Killer Sounds', will also play Beautiful Days festival at Escot Park, near Fairmile, Devon in August.
