Hard-Fi have announced a new album.
'Sweating Someone Else’s Fever', the long awaited follow-up to 2011's 'Killer Sounds', is due for release on June 19 via V2 Records. It takes its title from an El Salvador saying about not fighting the ego-based battles of others.
The album was recorded throughout 2025 at the English band's own Cherry Lips studio, a former taxi office in Staines which has been their hub for over two decades, and produced by frontman Richard Archer with longtime collaborator Wolsey White.
The record features 12 tracks, with Olivier Award-nominated singer Krysten Cummings contributing guest vocals to You Rule My Heart and A Rose Electric, and Mike Kalle appearing on Digo Nada.
As a preview, the band have shared the album's opening track, They Ain't Your Friends, which takes aim at the fickle nature of the current music industry via off-kilter, yet still earworm pop-rock. Archer said:
“At the beginning you could get out there and it was a meritocracy, whereas now it’s basically back to patronage where you have to suck up to the guy who’ll give you some money to write a waltz for his ball.”
Alongside news of the album, Hard-Fi have confirmed a trio of UK shows for the winter. They'll perform their hits and cuts from the new album at London's O2 Academy Brixton, the O2 Institute in Birmingham and O2 Ritz in Manchester between December 3 and 5. The gigs will follow a summer of UK festival appearances, including sets at Y Not? and Kendal Calling.
Tickets for their new headline dates go on general sale at 10am on March 13.
