Aldous Harding has laid out plans for a new album, her first since 2022.
The follow-up to 'Warm Chris' is titled 'Train On The Island' and is set for release on May 8 via 4AD. Recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, the album finds the New Zealand-born artist reuniting with long-time producer John Parish, best known for his work with PJ Harvey and Dry Cleaning.
The record also features contributions from pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llewelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, Polar Bear drummer Sebastian Rochford, and H. Hawkline's Huw Evans on bass, vocals, guitar and organ.
Comprising 10 tracks, the album is previewed by the hypnotic new single One Stop, a piano-driven, experimental indie-folk offering that arrives with a video directed by Michelle Henning.
The announcement follows news of Harding's first headline shows since 2023, which will see her perform across Europe and the UK between May and August, with a third night at London's Barbican Hall recently added due to demand, alongside appearances at Glasgow's Big Nights Out series and Green Man festival in Wales. She'll then play shows in North America in September and October.
Tickets for her extra London show go on general sale at 10am on Friday (March 6). All other dates are on sale now.
Since her last album, Harding has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Perfume Genius and Sleaford Mods.
