Kendal Calling is an annual music festival held in Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, Cumbria, featuring some of the finest acts in rock, indie, dance, folk, and electronica.
Formed in 2006, it has grown from a 900 capacity event to attracting crowds of over 13,000 and was voted Best Small Festival in 2010 and 2011. The festival offers a variety of entertainment, ranging from games and activities to street food stalls, craft beer tents and family-friendly shows. Across nine different stages, the festival has previously played host to the likes of Pendulum, Blondie, Mumford and Sons, Calvin Harris, Snoop Dogg, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, the Vaccines, James, Suede, Frank Turner, De La Soul, Happy Mondays, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Rudimental, Madness, the Charlatans, James, Shed Seven, Ocean Colour Scene, the Sherlocks, White Lies, the Wailers, Declan Mckenna, Fun Lovin Criminals, Lucy Spraggan, the Amazons, Tom Grennan, Slow Readers Club, Peter Hook and the Light, Marmozets, Pale Waves, Idles plus many, many more! Kendall Calling 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The festival will return in summer 2021 with headliners The Streets, Stereophonics, Supergrass, and Dizzee Rascal, plus many more.
