Barbados-born beauty Rihanna has denied that she wants her music videos to be controversial and raunchy – with the star stating that she thinks her videos are ‘works of art’.
Rihanna is known for her adult themed music videos and live shows, something which has gained her a lot of attention in the media – both positively and negatively. She was once branded a ‘disgrace’ by anti-rape campaigners for her video ‘We Found Love’, whilst her promo for ‘S&M’ was deemed as one of the most controversial of recent times – but Rihanna insists that her videos are ‘always just honest’.
“I never do anything to get banned, never do it for controversy,” Rihanna told the Radio Times. “It's always just honest and at times I just go a little too far for some. When I make a music video, it's a piece of art. It's four minutes to make a visual, for people to understand the message in the song.”
Rihanna recently revealed that she’d be embarking on a world tour in 2013, for an excursion which she has promised fans will be ‘bigger than anything we’ve done before.’
She said: “We're going to be going on tour next year. So this year we're spending our time planning to make sure it's bigger than anything we've done and something more impactful, maybe something different, so my fans can get excited about it.”
