Arizona rockers Calexico have announced a rare UK tour today, as they promote new album ‘Algiers’, which hits shelves this month.
The six-piece, famous for their unique and alternative take on Americana and country, will perform six shows in the UK and Ireland next year, following their appearance in London’s HMV Forum later this month.
Kicking off in Dublin on Valentine’s Day 2013 (February 14th), the band will perform gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, and Bristol, before heading to Brighton’s Corn Exchange on February 19th.
Tickets for the tour are set to go onsale this Friday (September 14th) at 9am, and will cost you around £15.00 + fees - you can find yours through Stereoboard. Watch out for any new dates that may get added in the coming weeks.
‘Algiers’ is the band’s eighth studio album and follows their 2010 record ‘Circo’, which features as the soundtrack to a documentary of the same name. You can catch them playing tracks from these two albums, as well as classics from their back catalogue, on their 2013 UK tour.
