Winning Lostprophets Song Revealed For Exclusive Vans Warped Tour UK Performance

Over the past fortnight Lostprophets fans have been making the most of the unique opportunity to add to the band’s setlist at this weekend’s sold out Vans Warped Tour UK in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. Fans have been voting for which of five rarely performed tracks they’d like to see performed during their headlining set at North London’s Alexandra Palace via text vote (with proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust). The performance will be filmed exclusively by Punktastic and hosted on the site for fans to watch.

The song options included ‘Lucky You’, ‘Darkest Blue’, ‘Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters and the Story of a Lonely Girl’, ‘A Million Miles’ and ‘Weapon’, with ‘Darkest Blue’ being the winning track, receiving 37% of the total vote. ‘A Million Miles’ came in second with 25%.

Frontman Ian Watkins said: “’Darkest Blue’ has always been a favourite from ‘The Betrayed’, and we’re glad our fans agree. We’re excited to play it for the first time in years and even more so because it has contributed to the growth of Teenage Cancer Trust.”

Entries were counted until midday yesterday, Monday 5th November, with Teenage Cancer Trust receiving £1 from every text.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the six young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. As one of the few charity partners at Warped Tour UK this year, Teenage Cancer Trust will have a stand on-site with signings from Yashin, It! Boys and Family Force 5, a raffle to win some awesome Warped UK merchandise and other swag, as well a T-shirt Amnesty where you can drop off your old and unwanted band T-shirts, potentially picking up a bargain in the process! For more information about Teenage Cancer Trust’s involvement visit the website www.teenagecancertrust.org.

Don’t forget, you can also pick up the official Warped UK playlist in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust from fairsharemusic.com. Featuring the likes of Bring Me the Horizon, New Found Glory, Less Than Jake and Bowling for Soup, for every playlist or individual track downloaded from here, Teenage Cancer Trust will receive a donation (48p per playlist/4p per song). Not only that, but if you like what you hear and want to get more, you can head over to this link where you'll find discounted albums by some of the artists playing, including 3OH!3, Awolnation and Funeral for a Friend - there ain't no shame in a bargain!

The charity relies on voluntary donations to fund its vital work. To make a donation text WARP to 70300 to donate £3 (plus your standard network rate). To find out more, visit www.teenagecancertrust.org
