Live At Jodrell Bank Picks Up Two Major Industry Awards

Live from Jodrell Bank - the unique festival/event held at the grounds of the Lovell Telescope - has picked up two major industry awards this year, after just two shows in their whole history!

In just two years, Live From Jodrell Bank have established themselves as a truly unique and simply outstanding event, which now has a wide fanbase who are all waiting in anticipation of the next. With the mighty Lovell Telescope as the backdrop, acts like Elbow and The Flaming Lips have not only brought amazing performances but a visual spectacle like no other to rural Cheshire. You can check out a video of the events below.

Transmission 001 received Event Magazine’s ‘Event Award’ recognising creativity and innovation in events sector, and winning best event in the entire UK - not just in the music category but up against huge events like Comic Relief and Jamie Oliver! Transmission 002 received the ‘Extreme Creativity Award’ at this weeks’ UK Festival Awards.

The Live From Jodrell Bank Series has an unrivalled Science programme on-site in the Science Arena, and the dozens of ideas on show beat every single other idea at every event in the country outside music and standard entertainment - as voted by a panel of industry judges.

Highlights included a Mars rover, particle accelerator exhibition, and a live on-stage link up to the Very Large Telescope in the Andes Mountains of Chile. Headliners Elbow worked in collaboration with Jodrell Bank Scientists to create bespoke visuals mixing images and video of work at Jodrell Bank, astronomy and history of the band, all projected onto the iconic 76-metre Lovell Telescope.

Though you may have missed the two events, Transmission 003 is set to take their ever-growing reputation to even higher levels in 2013 - make sure you don’t miss out this time round!
