Neneh Cherry Confirms New Four Tet-Produced Solo Record

Wednesday, 16 October 2013 Written by Huw Baines

Neneh Cherry will make a long-awaited comeback in 2014 with her first solo record since 1996.

According to Pitchfork, the Swedish star is set to release a new full-length, which was produced by Four Tet and features collaborations with Robyn and RocketNumberNine, early next year.

Speaking about the record, Cherry said:

"It was a liberating experience, not endlessly trying to fiddle with the music, re-recording hundreds of times. These days it's easy to create any effect or sound on a computer, it is much harder to get the rawness I think we've achieved."

Cherry released a covers album, 'The Cherry Thing', alongside the Thing in 2012, but her last solo venture remains 'Man', which landed almost two decades ago.
