With just 68 days until Christmas, Welsh brothers Richard and Adam Johnson are already favourite to be the Christmas number 1 with their new single - I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In (On Christmas Day) - out December 15.
Their debut album, ‘The Impossible Dream’, has to date sold over 100,000 copies, achieving gold status and topping the Official Album Charts for four weeks. Their new album, ‘The Christmas Album’, is released on December 2.
With the brothers 8/1 on hitting the Christmas number 1 spot, William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: “Richard & Adam look a class act and the odds suggest that they are amongst the favourites to take the coveted Christmas Number One."
Gennaro Castald, of the BPI, added: “Richard and Adam had one of the best-selling albums of the summer, so they’ve clearly built up a devoted fan-base, and with an album of festive songs coming out, including a strong lead single, they have to be considered among the main contenders for the Christmas No.1.”
Richard and Adam will be singing at the Regent Street Turning On the Lights ceremony on November 9 and also be turning on the Christmas lights at St.Helens on November 16. The pair hit the road for their debut tour next year in February and March.
