Mefjus Releases New EP

Monday, 21 October 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Austrian drum and bass newcomer Mefjus has returned with his latest EP ‘Contemporary’.

The producer and DJ has only been releasing tunes for a small number of years, but managed to claw his way to the forefront the ever-growing neurofunk scene with tracks like Far Too Close/Distantia and Struggles & Pain in 2012.

Having signed with Kasra’s brilliant Critical label, he’s been hard at work in the studio and has knocked out some epic tracks, including Signalz, a remix of Enei and Kasra’s So Real, and collaborations with both of those artists, and now he returns with his first Critical EP ‘Contemporary’.

Released today, it features four brand new tracks (with the first two available on 12” vinyl) filled with the intense and techy sound Mefjus is so good at creating, and fans are already grabbing their copies at crazy rates - Surus lists the vinyl edition as sold out already!

On the title track, Mefjus collaborates with the mighty Icicle - who seems to be making a much-wanted return  to drum and bass at the moment - for a storming roller that’ll put any pair of speakers to the test. You can check it out below.

The rest of the EP is similar in style - Mefjus is known for his expert production and extremely hard sound, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in Dissuade, Leakproof, and Mob Rule. But, although they’re all similar, they all offer a different vibe and rhythm, just like any good EP should.

As mentioned, it’s out now and can be bought here - if you like the EP, buy it and support the artist!
