Pete Seeger, Folk Legend And Activist, Dies Aged 94

Pete Seeger, the legendary folk musician and political activist, has died aged 94.

Seeger, whose work included Turn! Turn! Turn!, If I Had A Hammer, Where Have All the Flowers Gone and Kisses Sweeter Than Wine, died at New York Presbyterian Hospital following a short illness, his grandson, Kitama Cahill-Jackson, told the Associated Press.

Throughout his career, Seeger was a powerful voice for change, whether as a campaigner against nuclear arms, or a supporter of Occupy Wall Street, while he helped to popularise We Shall Overcome as a civil rights anthem.
