Leon Bridges Sets July Release For New Album 'Gold-Diggers Sound', Shares First Single Motorbike

Friday, 14 May 2021 Written by Jon Stickler

Leon Bridges has announced his third album.

The follow-up to 2018's 'Good Thing' is called 'Gold-Diggers Sound' and will arrive on July 23 via Columbia Records.

The record was co-produced by Nate Mercereau and Ricky Reed, the latter of which executive produced alongside Bridges. As a preview, the Texan soul singer has unveiled the breezy R&B single Motorbike, which comes with a Bonnie and Clyde-themed video produced by Anderson .Paak. Bridges said:

"The inception of the song started with this afrobeat-type instrumental that my homeboy Nate Mercerau made. Prior to the session, I was in Puerto Rico for my 30th with my best friends, and the energy of that trip totally inspired this song. Motorbike is about living in the moment and escaping with someone. It's the personification of that unspoken chemistry you have with that person. A special thank you to my man Anderson .Paak for the stunning visuals."

The LP will also feature the Grammy Award-winner's 2020 collaboration with jazz artist Terrace Martin, Sweeter. Head below to view its artwork by Justin Hardiman.
