Dead Cross have announced their long-awaited sophomore album.

The hardcore band, which features Faith No More's Mike Patton and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, with Locust frontman Justin Pearson and Retox guitarist Michael Crain, will release 'II' on October 28 via Ipecac Recordings.

The LP comes in the wake of Crain receiving a surprise cancer diagnosis, and follows their 2017 self-titled record, though they put out a self-titled surprise EP in 2018 and a cover of Black Flag's Rise Above in 2020. Crain said:

"Words can’t even begin to describe how much this album means to me. It’s birthed of pain and uncertainty. The slow, excruciatingly painful, and nauseating recovery from cancer treatments were the catalyst for every riff and note on this album. However, my will to live and be with my brothers Justin, Dave, Mike, and co-producer Ross Robinson, got me out of bed and running into the studio every day to get it all on tape."

As a preview, they've shared the frantic new track, Reign Of Error, which delivers white-knuckle intensity alongside a powerful animated video directed by Displaced/Replaced.

The news follows a period of turmoil for Dead Cross, which saw original singer Gabe Serbian, who also played in the Locust with Pearson, pass away at the age of 44 earlier in 2022. Additionally, Patton has recently been dealing with mental health struggles, which previously caused him to cancel Faith No More and Mr. Bungle shows.

'II' tracklist:

1. Love Without Love
2. Animal Espionage
3. Heart Reformer
4. Strong And Wrong
5. Ants And Dragons
6. Nightclub Canary
7. Christian Missile Crisis
8. Reign Of Error
9. Imposter Syndrome
