The Neighbourhood have announced their first new studio album in five years.

The long-awaited follow-up to 2020's 'Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones' is titled '(((((ultraSOUND)))))' and will arrive on November 14 via Warner Records.

To coincide with the news, the California band have shared three tracks, Private, OMG and Lovebomb, all of which serve up their signature blend of dark, atmospheric alt-rock and indie-pop.

The Neighbourhood revealed via social media in August that they reformed last November following an indefinite break in 2021. The band — comprising Jesse Rutherford, Zachary Abels, Jeremiah Freedman, Michael Margott, and Brandon Fried — also confirmed that Fried is rejoining after being removed in late 2022 following allegations of groping The Marías lead singer Maria Zardoya. They wrote:

"In November 2021, after 10 years together, The Neighbourhood went on an indefinite hiatus. As we entered our early 30s, we were faced with life outside of the band for the first time in our adult lives. Breakups, family struggles, and personal challenges."

On the controversy surrounding Fried, they added: "In November 2022, it became evident that Brandon’s struggles with substance abuse needed immediate attention, and we agreed it was best for him to step away and focus on his recovery. To those who spoke up and helped bring this to light, thank you. Your courage helped us get our friend the support he needed."

On his return, they continued: "We are proud of Brandon, the changes he has made, and the progress he continues to make in his life. Being in each other’s lives for over 20 years, when one of us is going through something, it impacts all of us."

Since their last album together, Rutherford has released two albums, 2023's '&ONE' and 2024's 'Jesse®'.
