The estate of the late Mac Miller have announced a new reissue.
In celebration of its 10th anniversary in September, on October 2 'The Divine Feminine' will be reissued on special edition vinyl featuring three bonus tracks from the recording sessions for the album.
One of the three new songs is called Butterfiles and reminds us just how unique a voice in rap and hip hop Miller was, integrating live, jazz-leaning instrumentation alongside programmed beats and his distinctive flow. It was produced by Taylor Graves, who provides additional vocals, and features Miller's frequent collaborator Thundercat on bass and Daniel Hardaway on trumpet.
A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to the Mac Miller Fund, which offers opportunities to youth from underserved communities and helps those "aged 27 and under with all stages of addiction-recovery treatment and post-treatment services." Miller passed away from a drug overdose in 2018 aged 26.
Last year saw the posthumous release of his album 'Balloonerism', originally recorded between 2013 and 2014. It picked up four out of five stars from us.
