Having built up their rep on the mean streets of Cardiff’s gigging circuit and touring as support for such musical luminaries as Lost Prophets, Manic Street Preachers and Funeral for a Friend, the Kids exploded in slow-motion across the scene and have now, officially, kind of made it. They is pop, they is rock, they is catchier than scabies, they got nominated for Kerrang!’s best Newcomer award in 2007 but didn’t get it. That’s alright though, because they’ve just gone from strength to strength and their fans and their mothers love them.
The band have been locked up in a studio since last August, furiously working on their next album, ‘Dirt’. It’s due to be released towards the end of this year, so there’s more work to be done yet. In the meantime, The Kids will emerge blinking into the unfamiliar sunlight to support their buds, the Lost Prophets.
