Download Festival 2010: Aerosmith and Rage Against The Machine Now Confirmed

Multi-million selling rock gods Aerosmith and one of the most popular and influential political bands in music have now been confirmed for headlining this year’s Download Festival.

You want more big name headliners do you? Well you got it! Joining already announced rock titans AC/DC will be none other than one of America’s greatest exports, Aerosmith. Celebrating 40 years at the helm of rock’n’roll, Aerosmith will return to the main stage at Donington Park for their first time in 16 years.

The group last played at the venue as headliners for the then-called Donington ‘Monsters Of Rock Festival’ in 1990 and 1994. Now the legendary juggernaut performance will return, no doubt proving once again that they are the best-selling American rock band of all time.

The other big name headliner confirmed are rap metal titans Rage Against The Machine, fresh from the publicity storm around last year’s UK Christmas Number One. Appearing at the event for what will be their very first time, they will bring their powerful political alternative, hip-hop, punk rock show to the festival’s main stage.

Rage Against The Machine remain one of the most popular and influential political bands in contemporary music and were presented the Hall Of Fame Award by Kerrang! Magazine in 2008.
