Tiffany Page Announces Extensive UK Tour & Tickets

One to watch in 2010, Tiffany Page, is hitting the road over the next few months on an extensive UK tour.

The girl with a guitar and an exceptional voice too will be doing an extensive run of gigs in small, intimate venues following her current stint supporting the Noisettes this month.

Born in Britain in 1986, Page moved to Zimbabwe at the age of one and lived there for six years. It was there that Page had her first experience of performing, taking part in choir lessons, even though her powerful voice would drown out the other children. "I think that made me shy about singing in front of a lot of people," she says, "I never went up for school plays, I always sat back after that."

Having toured the London circuit, Page has been described as having ““the sassy swagger of Chrissie Hynde, Shirley Manson’s vampish purr and the hellion roar of Courtney Love.” She has no certainly overcome her apprehensions and is now very comfortable on stage.

Moving from being a solo performer to working with a band, Page has started to work in partnership with other songwriters to help in her trade. "I sometimes write on my own, but I prefer collaborating because I learn more when I'm writing with other people," she explains. "They give me ideas which I've never thought of, it's like having a whole other brain to work through."

Upon getting her first guitar at 14, Page’s influences came from bands such as Queens Of The Stone Age and Hole. However she claims that the rather more calm Dido’s ‘Hunter’ track was the song she learned first.

An odd choice for a girl whose voice is packed full of smokey strain and husky emotion, very similar to that of Chrissue Hynde of the Pretenders. Don’t miss your chance to see the songstress before she makes it big!
