Massive Attack is an English trip-hop band from Bristol, consisting of Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall.
Formed in 1988, the band released their debut album, ‘Blue Lines’, in 1991, with the single, Unfinished Sympathy, reaching #13 in the UK Singles Chart. The band’s second album, ‘Protection’, was released in 1994, and led to the band winning Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards. The album ‘Mezzanine followed in 1998, and featured the #10 single, Teardrop, with the album hitting the #1 spot in the chart. ‘100th Window’, which was released in 2003, also reached #1. The group’s last album, ‘Heligoland’ came out in 2010. In January 2016 the band released the EP, ‘Ritual Spirit’, which featured Tricky, Young Fathers, Roots Manuva and Azekel.
The group have headlined their own shows and tours across the UK, including performing at Bansky's Dismaland in September 2015, before a comprehensive UK tour for early 2016.
Next up, Massive Attack headline a day at Hyde Park for British Summer Time, as well as a show at Plymouth Pavilions in June and a open air show at Bristol Downs in September, with Primal Scream, Skepta, Young Fathers, Patti Smith, TV On The Radio, Warpaint and Ghostpoet.
Massive Attack play at Mad Cool Festival in July 2018, and have also confirmed their only UK outdoor shows of 2018 at the Eden Project in June. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and ticket information on Stereoboard below!
