Metro Boomin—real name Leland Wayne—is a producer and DJ from St. Louis, Missouri.
Known for his dark production style and its influence on modern hip hop and trap, he began his music career in 2009, at just 16-years-old. His mainstream big break came in 2014 after he produced the track Tuesday by iLoveMakonnen and Drake, and has since gone on to work with the likes of Kanye West, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone, 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj, which has earned him three Grammy nominations. He put out his debut studio album, 'Not All Heroes Wear Capes', in 2018, followed by 'Heroes & Villains', in 2022. He also put out a collaborative LP with Metro Boomin in 2024, titled 'WE DON'T TRUST YOU'. Metro Boomin and Future will team up for a tour of North America in summer 2024.
