Download Festival is an annual rock and metal music festival that takes place at Donington Park, Derby in June.

Formed in 2003, as a follow-up to the Monsters of Rock festival which took place at Donington Park between 1980 and 1996, the event has seen performances from the likes of Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Linkin Park, KISS, Faith No More, Avenged Sevenfold, Biffy Clyro, Linkin Park, Aerosmith, System Of A Down, Ozzy Osbourne and AC/DC all gracing a headline slot at this iconic festival through the years.

Def Leppard, Slipknot and Tool headlined Download in 2019 alongside sets from Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Whitesnake, Rob Zombie, Trivium, Amon Amarth, Carcass, Delain, Die Antwoord, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Opeth, Power Trip, Reel Big Fish, Skindred, Starset, Tesla, the Amity Affliction, Underoath and more.

KISS, Iron Maiden and System of a Down will headline Download Festival in June 2020. Derby Donington Park on July 12 2014
I went on Saturday to see headliner LINKIN PARK for Download 2014. It was certainly one of the most amazing experiences ever. I got to see some of my favourite bands grace the main stage and socialise with the crowd around me who, contrary to popular belief, are extremely friendly and respectful. Download has been a tradition for years in Donington Park and has not failed to deliver anything less than outstanding once.

After days of glorious sunshine (. ), 100,000 people are now slowly readjusting to life outside the hallowed gates of Donington Park following another edition of one of the biggest rock, metal and punk parties in the world. Until we do it all again next summer, all that’s left to do is talk about the memories.
