Summer In The City Tickets, Events & Festivals in 2024/2025

Sounds of the City, formally known as Summer in the City is a series of summer concerts held in Manchester, located in the city centre’s Castlefield Bowl.

Originally billed as a two-day event in July 2014's, the event attracted some big name headliners: the first night of proceedings was hosted by legendary alt-rockers Pixies, with support from fresh-faced Brighton outfit Royal Blood.Meanwhile James, local Manchester heroes, took to the stage for the second evening following a set from fellow hometown heroes Starsailor.

In 2015 the event saw performances from Paolo Nutini, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott all headlining separate nights in July, with I Am Kloot and The Leisure Society to open for Heaton and Abbott, Blossoms for the Charlatans and Johnny Marr, the legendary guitarist of the Smiths, alongside Black Rivers for Gallagher.

The festival returns in 2016 with headliners Guy Garvey, James Bay, Stereophonics, and Catfish and the Bottlemen announced. Catch the event by checking out the dates and ticket information on Stereoboard below.
